Opera Singer, Alto
As a keen performer of contemporary music, she sang alto solos at the world premier recording of Du såg mig, an oratorio by Hovland.
Her first solo album Med Dig contains songs by Scandinavian composers Bergman, Berg, Nystrom and Kortekangas. It received brilliant reviews and was followed by an album A Summer evening, containing Finnish vocal music.
Margit holds a master’s degree both in voice performance and pedagogy at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Lately she has also dedicated herself to literature and creative writing. She has written a chamber opera libretto composed by a Finnish composer Kaj Chydenius. The Boat Opera tour took place in the Finnish archipelago and visited several ports during the summer 2016. The audience loved it dearly.
During the early years of her career Margit prioritized her family life alongside her singing, which influenced the fact that she mostly sang in Finland near her children. Now a few years later when her chicks have left the nest, it’s time to let the voice completely loose on the world stage again. There is still a lot of music left unsung, which her magnificent alto voice is ready to deliver.
